Henry when asked a month before he died “What is your next Project?”:

“Half a dozen that I put on ice to finish the guide in time:

1.    Wish Mitchell, Nigel and I have  a 95% finished paper on periglacial  features on the Bale Mts. Also our first batch of CRN dates from Bale should be ready - I must chase these up.

2.    A paper on the weathering of tombstones in churchyards near Cambridge has been 90% ready for several years, awaiting some chemical analyses now done.

3.    An attack on the big paper by a dozen palynologists (Farrera et al.) on lapse rates at the LGM needs polishing a bit before submission; I should like to send it to you first.

4.    I have just sent off to our computer technician my second lot of changes and additions to finish organising our new IALS  website www.ladakhstudies.org - don't look for another week when it may be completed.

5.    I have spent the afternoon re-potting some young trees for planting in a bit of woodland my family still have in Sussex, where as a boy I spent many hours wandering round with a gun after rabbits, pigeons and squirrels.

6.    A history of the Uganda Forest Dept. 1966-2005, is partly compiled but now stalled in Uganda (only temporarily I hope)

7.    A paper on micro-rates of solution of spectacular limestone karren in Mallorca with 30 years data.

8.    A paper on circular sampling transects for geological joint-lines etc

-        a new concept I think (could be used for crevasse directions?).

9.    Occasionally teaching science (incl. glac.) to one of my younger (10) grand-daughters who is being educated at home (a pleasure, as she is very bright; also plays harp, flute and piano; skis and rides).

>>> etc.....   etc,..........+...+..................???????

I have had a reassuring body-scan result today, so there may be time to finish some of these!
